Rewilding Retreat in South Africa 2027: Terms and Conditions
August 28 to September 7, 2027 • Greater Kruger, South Africa

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the Rewilding Retreat in South Africa 2027 ("the Retreat"). By completing your purchase, you confirm that you have read these terms in full, that you understand them, and that you agree to be bound by them.

1. About this Agreement

This Agreement is between you, the individual purchasing a place on the Retreat, and Bronwyn Ayla, an individual ("Bronwyn Ayla," "I," "me," or "my"). The Retreat is led by Bronwyn Ayla and held at a partner lodge on a private reserve in Greater Kruger, South Africa.

2. The Retreat

The Retreat is a ten-night residential retreat, arriving Saturday August 28, 2027 and departing Tuesday September 7, 2027. It includes daily movement practice with me and two guided game drives a day with the lodge's field guides. We stay at one lodge for the whole Retreat.

The schedule may be changed because of weather, animal activity, road or reserve conditions, force majeure, or any operational reason that affects the safety, integrity or feasibility of the experience.

3. What's Included

Your place includes ten nights' accommodation in the room type you booked, all meals, early-morning snacks, tea and coffee, two guided game drives daily, daily practice and teaching with me, conservation and reserve fees, the group shuttle between Hoedspruit (Eastgate) Airport and the lodge on the arrival and departure days, and the online gatherings before and after the Retreat.

4. What's Not Included

Your place does not include international or domestic airfare, travel insurance (which is required, see Section 6), visas or entry fees, drinks beyond tea, coffee and water, tips for guides and lodge staff, personal expenses, transfers outside the group shuttle, or any cost arising from your own decision to arrive late, leave early or take services outside the group program.

5. Refund Policy

The cancellation, refund and transfer terms for your place are set out in the separate Refund Policy you reviewed and accepted at the time of purchase. That Refund Policy is part of this Agreement.

6. Required Travel Insurance

You are required to obtain and keep, at your own cost, a travel insurance policy that covers, at minimum:

Emergency medical care and hospitalisation in South Africa, with cover of at least USD $100,000,
Emergency medical evacuation, including air evacuation from the reserve, with cover of at least USD $100,000,
Repatriation.

Trip cancellation and interruption cover is strongly advised, ideally Cancel For Any Reason cover.

You must provide proof of insurance (policy number, insurer name and 24/7 emergency contact number) no later than 60 days before arrival. Failure to provide proof of insurance is grounds for cancellation of your place under the Refund Policy.

I am not your insurer and will not cover medical, evacuation, repatriation or trip-interruption costs on your behalf.

7. Your Health and Physical Readiness

By accepting these terms, you confirm that:

You are able to sit in an open safari vehicle on rough dirt tracks for about three hours at a time, twice a day, and to climb in and out of the vehicle.
You will take part in movement practice at your own level and take responsibility for your own body.
Before travelling, you will speak with a physician or travel clinic about your trip, including malaria prevention and any vaccinations they recommend for travel to South Africa.

8. Your Honest Health Disclosure

You agree to tell me, in writing and no later than 60 days before arrival, about any medical conditions, medications, allergies, dietary needs, mental-health considerations or other factors that could affect your safety or the safety of the group. This includes, without limiting the list, cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, pregnancy, recent surgery, severe allergies, a history of severe anxiety or panic, and any condition for which you carry rescue medication.

I will treat this information as confidential and share it only with the lodge and emergency medical personnel as needed for your safety.

Failure to disclose, or material misrepresentation about, your health is grounds for removal from the Retreat at your own cost, without refund.

9. Risks You Accept

You understand and accept that travel in South Africa and time in a wildlife reserve involve risks that cannot be eliminated. These include:

Encounters with wild animals, including large and dangerous animals that move freely through the reserve and around the lodge.
Injury during game drives, including from rough roads, sudden stops or vehicle accidents.
Bites and stings from insects, spiders, snakes and other animals, and illnesses they can carry, including malaria and tick-bite fever.
Sunburn, heat, dehydration, and cold early mornings and evenings.
Slips, falls, sprains and other injuries, including during movement practice.
Foodborne and waterborne illness.
Distance from hospitals and the time an evacuation can take.
Crime, and loss, theft or damage to personal property.
Emotional, psychological or spiritual material that may arise in a retreat setting.

You voluntarily accept these risks and any other risks inherent in international travel, time in the wild and group practice.

10. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you, on behalf of yourself, your heirs and your personal representatives, release, waive and discharge Bronwyn Ayla and any of her agents, contractors, assistants and associated business entities (the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to your participation in the Retreat, including any claim arising from the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties.

This release does not apply to gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be released as a matter of law.

The Released Parties do not include the lodge, its field guides and staff, transfer providers or airlines, each of whom is an independent third party. I make no representation or warranty, express or implied, about the services these independent third parties provide, and I am not liable for their acts or omissions.

11. My Role During the Retreat

I am a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and a licensed primary care provider in the State of California. During the Retreat, however, I am serving as your retreat leader and teacher, not in any clinical, medical or primary care capacity. Nothing I say or do during the Retreat is medical advice, diagnosis, prescription or treatment under any licence I hold. You remain responsible for your own healthcare decisions and for travelling with any medications, prescriptions or medical equipment you need.

12. Photo, Video and Testimonial Release

During the Retreat, I and other participants may take photographs and video of the group and of you. By accepting these terms, you grant me the perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use your image, likeness, voice and any unsolicited testimonial you give, in any medium now known or later invented, for marketing, educational and editorial purposes related to my work and future offerings.

If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, you must opt out in writing before arrival by emailing info@bronwynayla.com. I will make a good-faith effort to honour your opt-out, but I cannot guarantee that you will never appear incidentally in group images.

13. Code of Conduct

By accepting these terms, you agree to:

Treat fellow participants, field guides, lodge staff and local people with respect and care.
Follow the safety instructions of the field guides and lodge staff at all times, including staying seated in the vehicle during game drives and never walking outside the lodge's safe areas, or anywhere after dark, without an escort.
Honour that the Retreat is alcohol-free.
Refrain from the use of illegal drugs at any point during the Retreat.
Take responsibility for your own pace, hydration, sun protection and warmth.

I reserve the right to remove any participant from the Retreat, at the participant's own cost and without refund, for conduct that compromises the safety or integrity of the group.

14. Group Confidentiality

What is shared in circle, in practice or in private among participants stays among participants. You agree not to disclose, publish or repeat to anyone outside the group any personal, emotional, spiritual or private content shared by another participant during the Retreat without that participant's express written consent.

This confidentiality obligation continues after the Retreat ends.

15. Force Majeure

I am not liable for any delay, cancellation or change to the Retreat caused by events outside my reasonable control, including without limitation natural disaster, fire, flood, severe weather, pandemic or epidemic, government action, travel restrictions, border closures, war, terrorism, civil unrest or strikes. What happens to your payment in these cases is set out in the Refund Policy.

16. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. You acknowledge that the Retreat takes place in South Africa and that South African law may apply to services provided there by the lodge and other independent third parties.

17. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation between you and me. If we cannot resolve it within thirty (30) days of written notice from one of us to the other, it will go to confidential mediation in Berkeley, California, before a single mediator we both agree on. Each side bears its own costs of mediation, and we split the mediator's fee equally.

If mediation does not resolve the dispute within sixty (60) days of its start, either of us may pursue binding arbitration in Berkeley, California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrator's decision is final and binding. Each side bears its own costs in arbitration; the prevailing party may seek recovery of its reasonable attorneys' fees from the arbitrator.

We both intend that court litigation be the option of last resort.

18. Entire Agreement

This Agreement, together with the separate Refund Policy, is the entire agreement between you and me about the Retreat and replaces any earlier communications, proposals or agreements, spoken or written. No amendment is valid unless made in writing and agreed to by both of us. If any part of this Agreement is held unenforceable, the rest remains in full force.

19. Your Acceptance

By completing your purchase, you confirm that you have read these Terms and Conditions in full, that you understand them, and that you agree to be bound by them.

Rewilding Retreat in South Africa 2027: Refund Policy

When you reserve your place on the Rewilding Retreat in South Africa 2027 (August 28 to September 7, 2027), your booking secures your place, holds your room, and begins the work of accommodation, meals, game drives, transfers and retreat arrangements with our partner lodge in Greater Kruger. The following refund policy reflects that real-world commitment of resources from the moment you book.

If you cancel
$1,000 of your retreat price is non-refundable from the moment of purchase. This protects the operational and administrative work that begins immediately when you reserve your place. Beyond that, the following applies based on when you cancel:

Before April 30, 2027 (on or before April 29, 2027): You receive a full refund of anything you have paid above the $1,000 non-refundable amount, including any private room upgrade, and any remaining monthly payments are cancelled.

On or after April 30, 2027: 100% of the retreat price is forfeited, including any private room upgrade, and any remaining monthly payments remain due. No refund is available.

Transferring your place
On or after April 30, 2027, you may transfer your place to another person you find to take it. The person taking your place must accept this Refund Policy and the Terms and Conditions, and we will move the booking into their name. Any payment between you and the person taking your place is arranged between the two of you. Email info@bronwynayla.com with the subject line "Rewilding Retreat Transfer Request" and include both names and the new participant's email address.

The cancellation policy above applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including personal or medical emergencies. This is why we require every participant to carry travel insurance, and strongly advise trip cancellation cover, ideally Cancel For Any Reason. Your insurance is the appropriate path for recovering costs in the event of an unforeseen personal circumstance.

If the retreat isn't the right fit
If I feel the retreat isn't the right fit for you, I'll refund your payment in full.

Force majeure
If the Retreat is cancelled or materially altered because of an event outside our reasonable control (natural disaster, government travel restrictions, pandemic, civil unrest, or similar), the amount you have paid will be rolled forward as a credit toward a future Bronwyn Ayla retreat or pilgrimage. Force-majeure credits are valid for 24 months from the original start date. Cash refunds in force-majeure situations are not guaranteed.

If we cancel
If we cancel the Retreat for any reason in our sole discretion, the full amount you have paid will be refunded, less any non-recoverable third-party costs already paid on your behalf. We are not responsible for any non-refundable airfare, visa fees, travel insurance premiums, or other costs you may have already paid to third parties.

How to request a refund
Email info@bronwynayla.com with the subject line "Rewilding Retreat Refund Request." Include the name your place is booked under and a short note about what's happening. We respond within five business days.
